What happens during a power outage?

During an outage, the battery system automatically detects the loss of grid power and within milliseconds, disconnects your house from the grid and keeps your power on. At that point, the battery supplies energy exclusively to your home. Once the outage is over, your battery seamlessly reconnects your house to the grid and resumes normal operation.

Does my energy provider change when I get a Base battery?

No.
Your energy provider does not change when you get a Base battery. If you see language about energy provider services on Base’s website, this is because Base also serves customers in competitive (deregulated) service areas of Texas.
