A state-of-the-art and cost-efficient way to boost grid resiliency.

General Overview

Farmers Electric Cooperative will be owner and operator of a 1MW solar array and 2MW dispatchable battery energy storage solution by the end of 2025. The installation will be in north Hopkins County and aims to increase electric capacity during moderate to high power requirement periods.

Project Highlights

The battery system utilizes zero-emission solar generation to charge the batteries, which then discharge in ways that enhance electric grid stability.

This project is funded in part by the State of Texas through a New Technology Implementation Grant Program from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
